I read an interesting article in Mx on Friday where it talked about research been done about how much time Females between the age 16 and 60 take to get ready by a UK online clothes retailer called Matalan (www.matalan.co.uk). Here are some of the results of the study (2500 women questioned):
- Females spend almost 12 months (287 days) out of their lives trying to decide what they will good in each day.
- Most spend about 20 minutes deciding what to wear before hitting the town on a weekend night.
- Weeknights out can take up to 20 minutes at a time.
- Deciding what clothes to take on holidays uses up 52 mins for every holiday excursion.
- While on holiday, 10 minutes a morning will be taken up trying to find an acceptable outfit with another 10 minutes spent on picking evening clothes.
- Dinner Parties , Christmas parties and black tie events take up about 36 minutes a time, 6 times per year – adding up to 3 1/2 days.
- The average woman tries on 2 outfits each morning before coming to a final decision.
- One in two women spend 15 minutes the night before deciding what to wear.
"What to wear has a direct impact on how you feel about yourself and it is important a woman feels exceptional in her outfit.. we understand that this is fundamentally important to women." a Matalan spokesman said.
