WHAT DOES SUSTAINABLE MEAN TO YOU?

sustainable
Sustainability is certainly a hot topic at this time and many companies in fashion are asking the question of how they can do better. And rightly so, fashion is a huge contributor to the state of the environment.
There are some fantastic initiatives like:
that are making a difference.

Sustainable Starts with Yourself

I believe that making a difference starts with myself. I continue to ask myself what footprint I am leaving on this planet. What I grow in the garden, how I capture rainwater in water tanks and re-use what mother earth gave me, in abundance lately. How I capture, store and effectively use the beautiful sunlight we have so much of here in Australia. And what I can compost in my worm farm and compost bin.
I have enjoyed changing out all harsh cleaning materials to nature-friendly ones, which are also so much kinder to my hands, nose and brains. Makeup is a thing I rarely ever use and I no longer colour my hair. Natural is such a blessing.

How Sustainable Is Your Wardrobe

How effective my wardrobe is has been my passion for the last 21 years. Over the last year, I have hardly bought any new clothes as I made use of
what I had, working from home. Less became so much more.
Sewing gives me options to alter and create. Fabrics have also piqued my interest over the last few years and where the garments come from.
This is certainly something I continue to see and hear being asked by clients and my list of sustainable companies and fabrics continues to grow, outside of what is available in the shopping centres.
What are the sustainable changes you have made? I would love for you to share and for us all to be inspired.
