Today the final Year 12 exams are starting and it made me think back to high school and how dedicated (and stressed) a student I was.
What would you say to your Younger Self? Right now I would giveย “her” a huge hug and tell her how incredibly proud I am of her. I would tell her that all that effort one day will pay off. That one day her dream of looking after people (initially as a hairdresser… so I was very close) will come through. That one day all those countless hours of maths and business admin study will put to great use by being in Business for herself.
In High School I was not the most confident about my body and I would love to tell “her” to keep eating well, move your body and all will balance out perfectly for the rest of your life.
Oh yeah, and your dream of marrying a gorgeous Italian man totally comes through including your dream of having a huge family. (2 great kids, 3 step kids, 1 son-in-law, 1 daughter in-law and 1 grand child plus tons of cousins).
My Mum just gave me these pictures of when I was 3 and 4. Flowerpot hairstyles were a thing in the 70’s and my hair was so straight it was an art form to get it right. The other photo was at a pretend kindergarten market at 4 years where I am “selling” fabrics. Sorry about the poor quality but I totally love this photo as it shows my passion for retail and looking after people.
I would love to wish the high school kids all the best with their exams! It is only the start of the rest of your life!
Let me know what you would say to your Younger Self?
