Giving a service that a client enjoys so much and then makes it her own in the year since our appointment is such a great feeling.

This client booked in for a Colour + Style + Wardrobe session. She was so excited on the day as she had seen the draping being done all over the socials.

With her best colours on a digital colour app and in a colour swatch and all her best styles in one online style portfolio she was ready to go.

🔻you are very broad in the shoulders (in fact this the widest part of you)

🔻you have a big cup size

🔻 you are slim in your legs 🦵 (you don’t always fill pants up, yet you need the size to fit the tummy)

🔻 you are likely to be 2 sizes smaller in your pant size compared to your top size. (My client Di last week was an Australian 14 in tops and 10 in pants)

Deduct the bust measurement from the hip.

Is it over 7.5cm (3 inches) ➡️ 🍐🍐🍐🍐

Is it between 1 and 7.5 cm ➡️ 🧱🧱🧱🧱

For 80% of women that will give a 🍐 or a 🧱 result.

Each main season is divided in 3 directions, giving us 12 colour season options in total.

In Monica’s case, she could be a Soft, Warm or Deep Autumn 🍂.

In this step I use the boards that reflect a snapshot of the colour seasons.

I compare one with the next to make sure we are on the right track.

You will always have a sister colour season that influences your colour season heavily.

Monica is a Deep Autumn and her colours are influenced by the Deep Winter colours (think Kris Jenner).

Monica loves an intense colour but it needs to be muted.

C💜LOUR ANALYSIS 🧐 STEP 3 - YOUR MAIN SEASON 🌈

In step 1️⃣ you know if you are best in cool or warm colours.

Step 2️⃣ discovers if you are a muted or clear colour season

The four main seasons are :

🩵Summer also known as Cool & Muted

❤️ Winter also known as Cool & Clear

🍁 Autumn also known as Warm & Muted

🌟 Spring also known as Warm & Clear

Monica is a warm colour season so I run the two warm main seasons in front of her.

In colour analysis we compare one with the other many times over to make sure we are on the right track and not missing anything.

In step 2️⃣ we already discovered Monica is muted so in this step 3️⃣ I expect that when the Spring colour season colours go in front of her these colours are not going to look great as they are clear 🌟.

✅ It is like a confirmation process.

Monica is an Autumn 🍂 colour season, but there are three colour seasons so which one, I will show in step 4️⃣.

STEP 2 - MUTED OR CLEAR The jewellery metal drape

STEP 2 - MUTED OR CLEAR

The jewellery metal drapes show the difference between muted and clear so well.

The light 💡 simply bounces off clear colours.

✅ muted skin looks best in muted colours.

✅ clear skin looks best in clear colours.

It is a balance ⚖️

And when I say “clear” skin, that is often associated with blemishes or acne. But in colour analysis it has nothing to do with breakouts but with the natural shine your skin has. People with clear skin do often have an oilier skin type.

Monica is a muted colour season, her skin takes in the light, so muted colours look better on her 💜.

I start colour analysis 🧐 with the drapes that show how the skin reacts with cool 💙 and warm 🧡colours.

Some lift everything about you and others drain the colour right out of you. 🌈

Meet Monica, a client from my days at Veronika Maine. She has warm auburn hair, olive skin and warm deep brown eyes so all the warmer colours looked better on her.

Getting your colours done is fabulous in person. I come with all my tools in one big suitcase 🧳 , and we go through all the drapes, right there in your living room.

With high resolution images in good daylight this experience is also excellent to do virtually.

Here is what I look for when picking the right jewellery for your skin tone:

👌 balance between the muted/clearness of the skin compared to the jewellery.

👌Mat jewellery looks best on muted skin tone

👌 High shine in jewellery (think bling bling) looks fabulous on a clear colour season.

👌 many colour seasons can wear silver or gold

Amy is a warm, muted and soft colour season.

Mat metals are best on her. She looks best in softer tones of gold that are not too contrasted to the skin.

The sister colour season that influences her colours is soft and cool so certain silver metals will work too usually best in a gold/silver two tone option.

What you plan to do with your hair colour 🎨 is great to discuss at the start of your colour session.

Meet Monica, my lovely client from the Veronika Maine days.

Her colour season is one I don’t see that often. Warm, muted and Dark. With gorgeous deep auburn hair, deep warm brown eyes and olive skin with freckles.

She has never coloured her hair. And for the last 4 years neither have I.

Now grey hairs are filtering through that could eventually trigger her colour season to change. Time will tell.
