Summer dresses are one of my favourite items in my wardrobe. Just so easy. Dressing done in 10 seconds. Love it.
In line with this crazy hot weather, I have done some research for some really nice easy breezy summer dresses. Perfect to dress up and down, ready for the Christmas party season as well as a Sunday explore around the city.
A few things I would address before you start looking for the perfect summer dresses:
What fabrics do you like to wear and are you willing to put up with? Cotton and linen are obvious summer dresses choices to keep cool but are high in maintenance due to creasing.
What length? Short, knee and midi lengths are all in fashion, so the choice is yours.
What colour? What is your summer colour preference at the moment. Brighter, more muted. Both?
Patterns or plain? Totally up to you where your summer fashion mood takes you. Patterns will show less marks and creases and plain can be so classic, peacefully chic and elegant. Still make sure there is something special about the dress that makes your heart beat faster.

What shoes would you want to wear with them? This is the fun component as a casual or more dressier shoe option will make the dress look so different.
Finish around the arms, bust and hips. You know best how you like things to fit around your hips. Do you like it flowy, fitted, boxy, a/line? For pear shapes alarm bells go off when I see fitted and buttons but a/line and buttons works really well.
What price are you happy to pay for something you will have for many seasons (if you pick right)?
