The thought of holiday packing is enough to send some people into stress rashes.
But winter school holidays are around the corner so perhaps you have a short trip coming up. If you do, I say “lucky duck” and wish you the best time.
Have you started holiday packing yet? If not, then these tips below might inspire you to pack less and relax more.
1. CHECK THE WEATHER FORECAST
If you are leaving in the next week then it is time to check out the weather forecast so you can be prepared with the right amount of layers.
It is easy to download the weather app on your phone and add the destination(s) to your phone so you can keep an eye on the temperature and the chance of rain.
Since it is cold right now in Sydney, packing for a warm short trip can mess with the mind, leaving you forgetting what you need for the beach.
2. LEAVE ENOUGH TIME FOR WASHING
If you are holiday packing for a warm destination, then it is time to put your summer clothes through the wash so they are smelling nice and fresh.
3. WHAT IS ON THE ITINERARY
Comfortable shoes, sneakers, thongs, Ugg boots all come to mind when thinking about this holiday packing question.
4. FOCUS ON MIX AND MATCH
This is point where overpacking happens. Adding random items that “you may as well” take.
Seriously, who needs to lug kilos of stuff around you don’t need. And by the way rolling is where it is at, pushing your suitcase, light as a feather. This is my favorite luggage brand. (p.s. I don’t get paid for any recommendations, I am fiercely independent)
Pack the items that mix and match really well. The outfits you know you love wearing. This is not the time to pop in the skirt that you never wear as it is very likely you won’t during this trip.
