Fashion Review – Sportcraft Summer 2009

Sportscraft’s August delivery introduces the summer collection with a bold and exciting colour palette. The delivery sees an offering of updated classics with a relaxed, contemporary urban feel that embodies the brand’s Australian
heritage and considers our customer’s lifestyle and wardrobe needs. August incorporates levels of blues throughout the womenswear apparel, starting with soft pastels, which develop into wedgewood, cobalt and rich French navy.

From here emerald green is injected as the pop colour for the month, offset with mint in the casual-wear, with all colours complemented with a neutral base of bone and silver.

Bags for August reflect the brand philosophy of sophistication and simplicity. Hardware is limited and focus placed on usability. The Frida barrel bag $349.00 available in taupe is the standout bag for the month with top and front accessibility.

Neck scarves are key for August and new to the Sportscraft range. The Raine Scarf, in a colour palette of
blue, green and citron $39.95, sit back perfectly with the casual wear for August. Hats are standout with the Miller Trilby in natural $69.95.

This season Sportscraft introduce the ‘Non-Print’, meaning a softer version of modern geometrics. This print will be available in the Print Tuck Pleat Dress $269.95 and the Print Tie Front Blouse $169.95. The Liberty style print shirt $129.95 is introduced which is a popular trend here and overseas. Wear with the Sateen blazer, available in bone and black $249.00 and a Classic Jean $139.95 for daytime chic. The key dress for August is the Denim Shirt Dress $199.95, a perfect work-wear or weekend option.

The menswear August collection is based on the Explorer, with the collection celebrating our customer’s love of the outdoor lifestyle. Menswear for August is directional with its colour palette, whilst still incorporating brand classics. A nautical theme is also apparent this month evident in the Lorien Crew Neck Knit in a blue and natural stripe $119.95 and the Chambray Shirt $129.95. The Simon short sleeve check shirt $89.95 available in a red and blue check is the standout item for August, designed to be worn back with a short, jean or chino. The classic Sportscraft polo $59.95 is available in grass, red and grey mélange.
