Right at this very moment you might be finding it a bit hard to breathe! You may have tried to hide your bottom and stomach by pulling your top as far over your bottom as possible. This creates a fat horizontal line over the widest part of your body and THAT will make you look bigger around your hips.
TUCKING IN your tops is probably not something you have done very much in the past. I often get dirty looks from Clients when I mention “now when you put your skirt on make sure you tuck in your top”. That dirty look is quickly replaced by “wow I look so much slimmer all of a sudden”. TUCKING IN will make your legs look taller and your bottom and thighs slimmer.
This weekend I met with a lovely client in-store for a Style Session and she could not believe her eyes when we put slim cigarette pants and straight skirts on her quite predominant PEAR body shape. We tucked in the top and bloused her tops over and she looked a million bucks! Her confidence grew instantly. Here is what she said ” Thanks again for a great morning on Saturday.(Who knew that tucking in a top would make such a difference!)”.
Of course there is a time and place for TUCKING IN.
It is a MUST when you wear a SKIRT as it will create a waist definition. Your skirt must be a proper fit. Try to fit your waist and therefor usually one size below your pant size is a great starting point.
Ideal is to tuck in your top quite tightly and then blouse over about 3 cm over the top of your skirt and the front a little lower than the side for optimum SLIMNESS! So it looks more scooped than horizontal.
If you would like to add a belt to your outfit (GREAT FOR PEAR BODY SHAPE) then keep your top tucked in tightly.
Depending how you top fits you have the option to tuck into your PANTS & blouse or leave over . Try and keep away from the wider part of your hips. I would recommend you buy tops and jackets that already have a curved hemline so you don’t have to worry!
